Hi all
Few Questions, Does the 182 really have 2 maps? and im guessing the hot map is active when the rev limit is 7200?
If this is the case, and though its cold, even after a 20 min plus run im not hitting the high rev limit?
Will i be using more fuel?
and also why arent i getting the hot...
Yeah good point Gally, after a bit of Googling, It seems Mercs have the heated washer bottles, never knew that sort of thing existed, Its warmed from the coolant apparently. I cant see how it would make much difference immediately mind, as the engine would be cold aswell.
I actually, was thinking, why dont car manufacturers make the water in the washer bottle (mildly heated) or what about heated washer jets as a retro fit? Still its something more to break on a clio :) .. Incidentally when its frosty or going to be frosty I park the car nearer to the front of the...
And I'm not having a go, please don't think that I just know how difficult these cars are to get good results from, I just wonder if there's something more you can gain without spending on the car that's all ;-)
Oh, I don't think for one minute you are wrong, the point im making (badly) is that if you are not exploiting your car with its current power 100% then, much as you would like, do you need more power ?
Have a janspeed and decat... Really can't fault it, a little boomy around 3500rpms but (that goes if you have a cat) but top end sound is very very addictive ....
Cant believe im here again posting on this thread.... I did have my ass kicked.... In my personal opinion....
Decat... definitely more free revving, and appears easier to stall (i dont do that much) - Less backpressure I guess, oh and more noise. No difference on mpg for me though
Cat... the...
Watched fifth gear the other day and they had a Clio 200 with VBH driving, timed her laps etc with chip etc, and then without, as I remember she got a better time by having some more driving tuition... (im not saying you cant drive!!! i dont know you)
Just had cambelt and auxbelt done... Tappy noise gone, thought I would ask for the old dephaser back to take a look .... Dismantled it none the wiser mind. but looking at my old one the inner ring looks like it should move ........
As this video shows...
Yeah its not a cheap do, but its the price you pay, I can forgive the car its many faults as its so much fun. I was looking to replace it but with what!? its still a fun car to own, despite its appetite for front tyres and engine mounts.
Thanks, for that
Yeah my lil clio is gonna be raiding my piggy bank... Belts and dephaser it is! fortunately its due the belts shortly, so getting the dephaser at the same time makes sense
Thanks all, I have done a video not sure how to upload on here, but put it on u tube, strangely it sounds like the sound is coming from the battery side of the engine, not sure if you can pick that up on the video though. Id appreciate a opinion, if its dephaser then Birchdown it goes...
Hi All
Im wondering if anyone has any suggestions, I have a clio 182 and it taps (top end tappety sound) when warm, Any thoughts on what it could be and resolving it?, oh and it doesnt change with engine revs
Thanks
I have a Janspeed and when I got the car it had a decat, Fitted a renault cat, (to get through mot) and left it on a few weeks got a whistling at 2.75 - 7k revs that would be there all the time, (but if you revved it when stationary - nothing) got a genuine renault cat fitting kit - no change -...
