2 minutes from home last night, caught a glimpse of this heading the other way. Turned around as soon as I could and parked the car up, then set about on foot to try and find it (I knew it couldn’t have gone far based on where it was heading).
Found it, took a few snaps, then just as I went to...
Driving back from CSF with @Stefan. and what drove past us... only an Alfa 8C! Never seen one in the wild before. Pretty cool plate too.
Not the best pic as had to get phone out quickly before it cleared off!
Think you need to transfer the graphics onto the Porker 🤣
I’ve used RBM, they relocated the roof motor on mine and did some other work 👍🏼 can highly recommend them and definitely worth having that done as prospective buyers will ask about it.
My old one? It was a nice one. The colour was particularly nice in the sun, and the genuine BMW BBS Motorsport wheels I put on looked great (never seen another on them). I do miss that straight six engine!
As a guide, I sold mine in March last year for asking price of £8k @Dinky Feet
Here was my advert... 2006 BMW Z4 3.0si Sport - Ruby Black Metallic - SOLD | ClioSport.net
Granted, mine was a rare colour, high spec, had a few popular modications and some essential preventative maintenance...
I agree with you on the 108 wheels, I don't like them personally. And as you say, expensive to refurbish properly (a lot are done cheaply). First thing I did with my Z4 was remove these and change for different wheels, but the interest I had when advertising the 108s was crazy (just under a year...
Yes they are the Sport seats mate, have deeper bolsters both on the base and around the shoulder areas as you have mentioned.
So, it is a manual 3.0si Sport which is the most desirable model (y)
Has heated and electric seats, but that looks to be it on the options. Doesn't have xenons (I can...
@Dinky Feet
Very much depends on the spec on the Z4 mate.
Is it a 3.0si or 3.0i? Important, as the SI came with the later, more powerful N52 engine instead of the M54, which makes it much more desirable and prices reflect this.
I think I can just about make out that it is an Si model on the...
Items below are what I used when replacing arch liner fasteners on my Trophy. Can be seen on my old Trophy project thread (a lot of people messaged me last year asking where I got the fixings from after viewing my thread).
Screws...
Spotted one of these earlier.
I wasn’t able to grab a picture, but have googled and it was the same as this. Same colour, wheels and in really tidy condition.
Managed to just make out badge on the back which was Peugeot 104 GL. Never seen one before, was properly cool!
Other jobs today was...
Fit a new pair of PIAA wiper blades (not needed, I’m just a sucker for fancy stuff).
Fitted a new battery, just because I wanted new.
A few weeks back I sourced a spare pair of inner door handles so I could have them painted.
The ones in the car have been done by...
Small update on this...
Picked up the cup spoiler from painter last weekend.
Took the opportunity to purchase a couple of genuine boot struts which came up on eBay for a cheap price, thought I may as well replace whilst I was at it.
Got these both fitted last week...
Last week I also...
Still looking for a solution to this. Whilst it is only a beeping noise, it drives me around the f***ing bend!
So, I changed the boot catch as was suggested, as it turns out the sensor was faulty anyway. Whenever I opened the boot it made no difference to the boot delay light (was always off)...
Getting a few electrical issues/gremlins with the 172.
Initially noticed it occasionally doesn't want to start, you'll just get a few clicks but no attempt to start. Then if you hold the key to start, it sounds dead but sometimes there is just enough that it kicks over.
Noticed today that it...
Agreed Mark. Although, I would say the 16" F1s look better in person than what photos suggest, but still it is the 15s for me.
I will likely go to 15" F1s yes, but these were available and were my old wheels, along with 4 brand new PS3 tyres for a good price, so I got these for the moment. Nice...
So small update.
Was getting a small amount of scrubbing on full lock on the 16” F1’s. Partly because it’s quite low at the front, but also because of 205/45 profile tyres not helping (no spacers on the front at the moment).
I considered running the 16s on 195/45 tyres, but I’ve always...
Properly cool these.
Anybody else got some love for them?
I’d love to have it.

Not mine, just came across it.
Surely dreaming at that price?

That is lovely, and a great find.
One of the lower mileage examples of the 29 Petrol Blue cars too based on this register somebody put together a couple of years ago (those mileages were as of 2 years ago and your car reg RLZ was not on this list so 22 of the original 29 have now been...
Getting the following on my Ph1:
Alarm beeps once after unlocking car
Alarm beeps twice after locking the car
Does the above every time. More annoying than anything.
Also noticed today after unlocking the car and only opening the boot, I heard the car lock itself after 30 seconds or so (as...
I think I might have confused matters in my original post.
Basically, I just want to swap like for like. All I want to do is source a spare subframe so I can powdercoat that and then swap with my existing one.
So I was just asking if the Ph1 & Ph2 subframes are different - sourcing a spare Ph2...
If/when I do a suspension/bush refresh on the Ph1, am thinking about getting a spare front subframe and getting that shotblasted and powdercoated to swap over at the same time.
Will I need to source a Ph1 front subframe? Do they differ to Ph2 172/182 subframes? Have tried to search but...
Lovely buy that, look forward to seeing progress.
Assume it was my Trophy project thread you were referring to, nice to be of inspiration!
Also those seats... first set of Recaro’s that have got me thinking they may look ok in my Ph1! Would like to lower the seat height in the Ph1 but not sure...
Thanks mate.
It’s on Bilstein B14 coilovers. No front spacers in the picture, 10mm rear spacers. Not sure on how much it is lowered by. But also bear in mind I have the 16” F1’s not the usual 15” ones.
