That's the adjuster there at the top, will be worth soaking it in wd40 or similar looking at the condition.
From memory, I think turn anticlockwise is softer, clockwise is harder.
Which resistors are you using?
I used my rstuner to deactivate the drivers airbag, no problems with lights.
Maybe there is someone close to you that can help?
