Had new back box under warranty but now mid section has gone out of warranty. Renault want about £250 for mid section - have considered pattern parts but quality is poor and fit not as good as OE either. So, thought I could go for cat-back stainless - but use the car a lot for work so don't...
What am I looking at price wise for the ds2500's (Ferodo ?) and brembo high carbon discs - also need new brake fluid and pads and discs on the rear.
Cheers.
Front pads and discs pretty much had it - but not sure what to go for as replacement - deffo want a step up over standard kit.
I use either Mintex or Pagids on my VXT - any recoomednations for the Clio appreciated - it'll probably be going on track a couple of times this year (French car show...
Rentech quote was almost exactly the same as local dealer ???????????????
Was hoping it would be a bit cheaper............independents are usually much better value.
looks good but I'm in Northampton - anyone know of a similar independent outfit more local or any details on exactly what's involved in accessory belt change ?
Cheers.
Other than the usual service spec, I understand that the 2.0 16v needs accessory belt replaced at 36k miles. Dealer has quoted upwards of £350 for service plus this additional operation and explained that the accessory belt change is a git of a job and that bumper and other bits need to be...
Sure this has been covered before but quick search didnt show anything conclusive - heard that a few people have put 205/45s (size ??) on Cup - think it was Michelin Exaltos.
Heard good feedback about Exaltos and was considering the same.
Is this OK - anyone experienced any...
So 205/45 Michelin Exalto on a 172 Cup would be a good bet then ?
Wasnt sure about this at first - but the standard 195s do seem a little "stretched" across the rim, suggesting theres scope for 205 without causing any probs.
Whats a good price on these ?
Will soon need all four doing and read somewhere on here that some go for 205s (45 profile ?) as opposed to OE 195s
Is this the way to go ? Any drawbacks ?
What should I expect to pay and can anyone recommend a good supplier (Northants area) ?
Cheers.
Cup experience is a lot more than simply shedding a few kgs
Put Mondial blue Cup alongside Saxo and theyre clearly v. different - not that this matters - theyre miles apart in terms of what they offer. Sad, I know, but it makes me smile when I see Saxo chav-monkeys drooling over my Cup.
A few tweaks/mods will sort the sloppiness out Im sure.
You certainly dont see many around - I often notice that my Cup gets a few looks, Im the same when I see a MK1.
I thought that the Cup (Ive got a 53 plate) offered a slightly more focused and involving drive - although it may be difficult to compare - I spent a fair bit of time in both on a route I know inside-out. Driving experience may also be related to mileage the car has covered - Ive driven a...
The negatives often cited about turbo power delivery can be largely eradicated by using compact turbo units and also a certain vane/impeller design (sorry, cant remember the techno jargon) so that the unit "spools up" very rapidly and nearer the bottom of the rev range. Custom mapping can also...
Best service Ive had was from SEAT dealer when I had Ibiza Cupra
Reno dealers in and around Northampton are mailto:cr@p">cr@p, dishonest and have no knowledge of the car - Ive lost count of the number of times Ive diagnosed a fault for them (because they couldnt) and its taken several vists...
No, I dont own a Scooby (not my cup of tea either !) - Im running a 53 Cup and love the point-and-squirt B-road fun it offers.
Ive been considering the next step (£20k max) and V6 and VXT were firmly in the frame, but I wanted something completely different (had no end of hot hatch toys and...
When saying “performance” I wasn’t thinking about BHP only – clearly there’s a lot more to think about than what can be unleashed by your right foot (sorry, perhaps my use of words/explanation could have been better).
My view is that as a drivers “package” it just isn’t up there...
Thats the bottom line with the V6 - in terms of performance per £, it falls short.
Given the money and the hype (which perhaps doesnt help), I just wasnt impressed with it as a package.
If I wanted a tourer, I would probably consider an R32. For "hang-it-out, 10/10s" action, neither would...
My Cup goes this summer (probably - depends on house move) and Ive been swaying between VXT and V6 or back to a VAG turbo (LCR).
Mate has a VXT and its an absolute blast on track. I was also surprised at how good it was for normal day-to-day driving.
Have to say the V6 probably wont get my...
I was the same - 172 Cup was a different beast once it had 10k on it.
Still think the Williams offers a better "all-round" driving experience though.
As for the Hondas, wouldnt touch a CTR, the Integra is the way to go. Girlfriends brother has just picked up a lovely x-plate, 40k on the...
Any recommendations for getting a service on a 53 plate Cup (24k) somewhere close to Northampton - and what sort of price ?
Local dealers are taking the pi$$ and I dont trust them anyway following recent experiences with warranty work.
Also read on here last year that someone used AA service...
So does anyone know what is knocking on what ?
Ive adjusted as above - this has cured the knocking when lifting off the accelerator, etc in traffic, but still get a light knocking when going over cobbles or over a drop-kerb into drive way.
Ive varied the position of the surround and found...
