I have got a similar problem, I had the camshaft oil seals replaced but it still does it. Horrible smell when hitting some revs so I guess it drops onto the exhaust.
Its bite the bullet time, the original exhaust is still on the car and paper thin. Local dealer wants £420 for a mild steel one. Similar price for Janspeed or Scorpion RS192. Are they a better option? I know they tend to fall apart occasionally. I am looking for a standard look and sound if poss...
I know this will have been around before but can anyone say what a Clio 182 FF is like on 15 inch wheels? Does it drive ok? I could do with a spare set for the winter and also need to get mine refurbed due to an argument with a kerb  any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Hi
Does anyone have any experience of the difference in ride between a standard suspension setup and that of a 182 with cup packs? Mine is great on smooth roads but easily gets unsettled on the bumpy roads around here. I did wonder whether different tyre choice would help?
Any takers?
Cheers Paul
Just make sure that you dont use direct flash. Use a diffuser or brolly to soften it up. Check your results and adjust until you get the results that you like. Try Premier ink for mail order if you need any bits.
Thanks for the tips, no pain no gain. Hoping for a few decent days so that I can make a start on it. It looks ok when its clean but soon loses its shine. Cheers Paul
Black gold Clio 182, looks ok when washed but the paint has a rough feel to it. Obviously has some dirt bonded to it, any suggestions for cleaning and shining would be appreciated. Last time I used some polish on it I managed to get it on the plastic trim of the mirrors etc, mess and a lesson...
The rear discs have significant corrosion and do need replacing, I thought the fronts were ok but maybe its on the inside. I do get some rumbling when braking. I will take a good look when I get it back today.
Hi about 15 months, 36k on the clock and 2 stamps in the service book. I am used to bills for cars, it was just a shock to get them all together and yes I should have had the car checked over!
I am getting the belts, camshaft seals done and the CV boot. The rest can wait until I am solvent again. I knew the rear discs were dodgy but not the front ones and yes I didn't check the car over carefully! Never learn. Any advice on the exhaust replacement? I am not looking for LOUD. Cheers Paul.
Took the 182 in for belts and a service today plus sort out an oil leak. Its still in. I had a call saying that the oil leak was the camshaft oil seals. Then there was the following to be dealt with.
CV boot. Front and rear discs corroded. Rear tyres are perished. Exhaust is corroded. Bloody...
I have a Clio 182 with both Cup packs, it came with Exalto PE2's which do not appear to be available now. I bought 2 Pilot Sport 3's for the front and now need to replace the rears! Do I stick with the Michelins and stump up another £260 or would another Tyre do the job? Thanks.
I have a 55 plate 182 with cup packs. I joined because my car was crying. Well the washer fluid was weeping from the headlamp washers. It looks like this is a common problem and one that I will have to deal with soon. The good news is that it is raining and I cant see it now. I have been a...
