Windscreen Washer pump

  Clio 182 Cup
I am feeling very impressed with myself today, the reason being is that my windscreen washers stopped working about a week or so ago and I have managed to fix them. No big deal I hear you say well it is for someone who is not very good mechanicaly.

I purchased a new pump from ebay only to find that it does not seal the water bottle and its fittings were totaly different to the original one as i was just going to swap the base parts over. On closer inspection of the original pump i found that both exits for the water were blocked, so with screwdriver in hand i prised it apart to find the round rubber bit well and trully stuck and not moving. A quick look on here and found that if I cut a bit off each end I could solve this problem. So with the best kitchen knife i set about a little timming. All was reassembled and to my joy it works perfectly front and back with a very good amount of water being sprayed onto the screen.

The best part was I didn't have to remove the windscreen wipers to get at it just the rubber trim and the little plastic bits that hold the plastic panel down. You do get the odd blemish on your hands but it was worth it. So to celebrate i'm going for a blast round some B roads safe in the knowledge the bugs can be removed.
