got clifford blackjax on mine, lets the thieves start the car with the keys and drive away but disables it after about 30secs.
Never liked trackers, you get the car back "undamaged" after some aresole has been driving round in it for several hours.
No need to wait.
You can have my car today and you wont have to wait 5,000 miles for the engine to loosen up.
Just think what you could do with all that money youll save;)...
Sorry, must have cocked up when i searched autotrader, there are loads.
Range from £11,200 for private up to £11,995 for trade.
But there are plenty of new ones up for £12,000:cry:
Im swapping the clio for a vx220, how much do you think its worth, private or trade. Just looked on the autotrader website but there are no 182s for sale.

My advice would be to leave them at normal road pressure then go out and do some hard laps, check the pressures when you come back in and see how much higher they are. I would then set the "hot" pressure 2 or 3 psi above road settings to stiffen up the tyres a bit. I dont think you can give a...
I wouldnt bother with the lights as it just leaves a mess on the car.
If you up the pressures make sure you check them at the end of the session when the tyres are hot as they may be too high especially the fronts.
Dont worry about taking it easy for the first few sessions, people dont mind...
This may sound like a daft question but can you fit two 16" wheels and tyres in the boot of a 182. Before you say try it yourself i took the rear seats out soon after i bought it to fit in 4 spare wheels for trackdays, i want to know if i put the seats back will i be able to carry the fronts.
Quote:Remind me not to buy this mans car:D
My car is perfectly ok thank you, it is always warmed up before its driven hard and has regular oil changes.
It shouldnt be possible to damage modern engines just by using all the available revs, it is better for the car than pottering around town...
Opened it up after 1000miles
First trackday at 1400miles (ragged the a**e of it)
Now done 6000miles and 7 trackdays and its starting to feel a lot looser.:devilish:
I thought you could only adjust the front tracking on the clio so whats the point in paying a fortune to measure anything else unless youve had a bump.
Just ordered some performance friction pads for my 182 from Demon Tweeks.
They are the 01 compound, pad shape 0590, and are definatly for track use only.
£83.68 + vat
Cant wait for my next trip to Oulton park to try them out:devilish:
I used 80/100W lamps from Halfords in the old scooby, much brighter than any fancy coloured lamps. They used to pass the mot no problem, but I dont know if you could trust the wiring in a Reno.

"Maybe in Africa or whatever there is no point but there certainly is over here"
I think you are missing my point, the signals they were picking up in africa were from cars stolen in THIS COUNTRY. I was questioning the point of trackers if the cars can find there way to Africa...
The Blackjax was only about £120 Neil, not much to pay for some extra piece of mind.
"if someone nicks it you could replace it easily"
Even if the Clio is easy to replace I still dont want to make it easy for the thieving scum:@
Bang, the stolen cars were from this country and they managed to get all the way to Nigeria with the trackers activated, how "effective" is that.
The police like anything that makes their job easier-speed cameras, trackers, cctv etc...
When the doors are closed and the car starts moving you have about 20 secs to enter a simple code(only 2 buttons). If the correct code is not entered a beeper will sound and the brake lights flash(to warn following drivers the car is about to stop) for about 15 secs then the immobiliser will...
Just caught some of Car Wars currently on bbc1 investigating organised car crime. A lot of stolen cars were being exported to Nigeria so they fitted a Nigerian police helicopter with a tracker reciever. During a short 20min flight they picked up 16 british stolen cars with Trackers still...
Lets try that pic again:oops:

Had loads of fun at Oulton park on saturday when it started to rain at the end of the day, i was running on Indysport moulded slicks(pic below)

I dont think halfords make it in the back of the shop Liam, It meets all the required standards so thats good enough for me. Anyway, It gets changed every 2 trackdays which is better than waiting 12000 miles to fill up with "proper" oil. Where do you get Elf 5w40 for that price Liam?
Edde, I dont keep my foot on the brakes when I leave the track, that is the first thing you learn.
There are definately raised sections on the disks which are not due to pad deposits, I have rubbed over the surface with a polishing stone.
Tom, can you tell me where to buy the Brembo oes from...
Edde, from my last post,
"I have slightly warped my standard disks at Croft and am just looking for cheap, good quality replacements."
I have already upgraded the pads to Ferodo DS2500 but after croft I have high spots on the disk that is creating judder at the pedal.
Drilled disks tend to develop cracks when used hard, would rather stick with plain disks or grooved to stop the pads from glazing.
I have slightly warped my standard disks at Croft and am just looking for cheap, good quality replacements.
I need some replacement trackday disks for my 182.
At a trackday in Anglesey I spotted some on a clio 172 which were grooved(about 8 curved grooves), according to the owner they only cost about £50 and looked the same as fitted to a clio cup race car which was there also.
Can anybody...
I am sorry for any confusion but the situation i am talking about is when i turn off the ignition, get out the car, close the door but forget to press the keyfob to lock/set alarm, should the alarm arm itself. Can it be programmed to lock the doors automatically in the same situation.
If i leave the car unlocked shouldnt the alarm arm itself after a set period, i thought this was needed for thatcham approval.
My previous clifford alarm would set the immobilser after 20 secs and the alarm after a further 30 secs(if the doors were closed) without you needing to press the...
