Oil Change cost at Reno for 182

Lee

  BMW M2C

I had mine done last week while it was in having some work done. £85!!

I thought you had only just had the car? Does it need one?

heard of worse but its still a pisstake, dont know if the 182 has a baffled sump but if it doesnt then they will probably used a suction drainer and not even put the car on a ramp or taken the drain bung out. tube down dipstick tube, wander off and scratch ass for ten mins, swap filter then refill with oil and put oil cap back on £46 dick terpin was an amateur, lol

Thats a joke. Thick Fit will do you oil and filter with magnatec for 26 quid.

Id never go to a main dealer for things like oil or tyres.

Dont know if this helps much ...

Here in Madrid the cost is 78 Euros for Renault dealer to change 182 oil with Elf 5/40 Excelim (sp?) oil. Parts and labour.

If you dont have a jack or axle stand, the drive one side up a curb.(Put the hand brake on!)

That way you can get under it to remove the engine undertray and do the oil change.

its not so easy, you have to get underneath the car undo the plastci cover and the filter is a pain to get to, oil ends up everywhere Ive been told.

I too have my own oil like hip_spasm bargain and the correct stuff,

hip_spasm I got in touch with 2 main dealers and they want to charge me £27 if I supply my own oil.

Elf Excellium LDX fully synthetic 5W40. (about £2.50 for a 2 litre bottle !! :)

  Mondeo STTDCI

lol snap! I only phone one and it came out at the price above. I would do it myself if i had a ramp lol. I also have a couple of jacks but i really cant be arsed with jacking it up and crushing my jacking points, covering myself in oil and scraping my knuckles and burning my hands.

Halfords are selling 5w40 for 19.99 at the moment.

£6 for reno filter.

£15 labour at the local garage.

No burnt arms or oil on drive.

Job sorted.

but tinhead, Id rather have proper Elf excellium ldx 5W40 the stuff which is intended for 182s, for £2.50 for 2 litres than pay £19.99 for 4 litres? of halfords stuff.

Only paid £30 for the oil change for the 172
with me supplying the oil as Renault parts had a special offer on the 1 litre bottles of elf 5w40 @ @1.99 - which worked out a lot cheaper than the gash stuff they normally use.

I dont think halfords make it in the back of the shop Liam, It meets all the required standards so thats good enough for me. Anyway, It gets changed every 2 trackdays which is better than waiting 12000 miles to fill up with "proper" oil. Where do you get Elf 5w40 for that price Liam?

I agree the Halfords oil is probably the same stuff as other brands, and they wont make their own they will re badge another well known make. Ive used it before but what I was pointing out is Ive found a place that does the elf for such a small cost. Have a look on the link below.

here mate, see this thread, bargain. I got some as well as another forum user, havnt worked it out exactly but its somewhere around the £2 for a 2 litre bottle, I believe.

Im gonna change my oil at 6k now on 4, but when i asked my renault dealer they told me i should only ever use semi synthetic, all the time. Now from reading all the posts on here regarding the changing of oil for the 182 I am 100% confused by it all.

I went into halfords and showed the man the cliosport handbook and he said it would be ok to use fully synthetic?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Rob.

Ho ho ho ... same old story. Everyone has a different opinion. Bite the bullet and make a choice, but dont look for confirmation here!

Main Dealers know f*ck all. One I went to tried to tell me that I had to have all my oil changes done at a main dealer as doing an oil change required resetting the electronic dipstick which only they could do.

enough said. The delaers know nothing. The clio handbook states Elf excellium ldx 5w40, which is fully synthetic. Id go on what the nadbook says before the dealer for sure.
