I bought a used shock absorber from renparts for my 172 when i took of the old one there was a metal cap over the top of the rubber at the top. The one from renparts did not have this so i went to put on the one from the old shock absorber and it wont fit over the rubber is thicker anyone know...

All fixed now put à used alternator on and all lights gone out.

It is 172 53reg with air con. The battery light is not on when the ignition is off.

yes mate also cleaned the red cable that conects to the alternator still no not got à second Hand alternator coming from renparts Tomoz

that is what i was thinking only got the battery last year. So thinking must be alternator

i was driving when my stop light and battery light came on. I keeped going and got home but every thing went mad on the dash lights coming on and going speedo and all other gauges going up and down and not working. The engine was not making any abnormall noise any ideas.

how hard is it to change the alternator on a 172 and can is there a step by step guide anywhere.

Snow foamed my car last week with ad magifoam the washed with auto come shampoo the super resin polish then put on ag High gloss protection going to wash again today if i snow foam will it take of the polish and protection.

Could i get the eyes and mouth plz

Changed my headlight bulb yesterday and the white clip in there is snaped Can this be fixed or is ira new unit job

Yep still going strong it has 110000 miles on it now looking at getting a refurbed gearbox for it in the next couple of months then going to try and sort the paint work out do u know what happened to the service book.

ok mate i think i will skip that easy fix then have just found my car on here when it was owned by previous owner and it was leaking then so i will keep it top up for now looking at getting a secound hand gearbox then get it refurbed .

This is my car bought it last september from atherton car sales love it to bits had the cambelt,aux belt, dephaser and new radiator done at birchdown. Trying to sort the leaking gearbox now

ok mate would u say the drips near the back of the gearbox bottom of the pic would be coming from the selector

i have cleaned it up got a bowl under it when it is on the drive and can see three drops coming of it have seen on here if it is dripping it is to much. Lukej have you used this item and did work cheers for the help.

Have got à leak on my gearbox have looked under the motor and there are three drops one of the selector and two drops to the back of the gearbox
