Had the belts done at 5 year point with 20K on the clock. Why don't Renault stick with the old fashioned service schedule for the car rather than introduce colour coding service jobbies that don't quite tick all the boxes, i.e Renaultsport oil supplement extra, spark plugs extra etc etc, hey...
Hello,
My car is due its 6 year service soon (only done 25K) and when I called Renault to ask them to quote for a service according to manufacturers schedule, they replied that for all cars over 3 years old they do a silver (£99), Gold (£149) and Platinum (£199) service.
They suggested...
Just had a couple of PS3 fitted to the fronts today. First impressions are good, better than the PE2s?, too early to say but hopefully Michelin would not replace the PE2's with a inferior tyre or would they????
Hello there,
After looking after my front splitter for nearly 2 years, the time came this evening for me to hit a kerb whilst parking, dope!
I have some light scratches/minor scuffs in the middle of the splitter. Does anybody have any tips on how best to remove these? T cut? Boot...
I have and its still cheaper, plus I get to go on the razz with all my old Bristol mates on the weekend.
Take your point though, I think that Renault Europe just rip you off and their economy is not in such a bad way compared to UK so they still charge full whack on prices.
My mistake. The price is £573.27 inc VAT! which is much cheaper than the £1040 ex VAT that I am being quoted over here in Germany. Right a long drive back to Bristol it is then....
SJ Cook and Sons have quoted me £573.27 ex VAT to replace Timing and accessories belt and water pump. That sounds more reasonable to me. Any folk out there had any recent good experiences with them? I used them years ago for my R5 GTT service (seemed ok then).
Cheers
How come the Renault Garage in Germany is charging:-
Cam Kit = €318 ex VAT
Aux Kit = €277 ex VAT
Water Pump = €94 ex VAT
Plug & Cover (whatever that is?) = €15 ex VAT.
I would have thought Renault would charge the same price for parts throughout Europe (EU and all that?) obviously not!!
Hi there,
I have just had a quote to change the Cam/Aux belts (nearly 5 years old) from my local Renault dealer in Germany and they have come back with €1196.83 (approx £1040!) attached as pdf, which includes a replacement water pump as they said that 80% of the time the water pump needs...
I dropped the car in. 1 1/2 hours later job done. Spotless repair and he didn't even have to rip out the roof lining to sort it out. Worry now over. I keep trying to find the 2 dents but I can't!!. The guy has been doing this PDR stuff for over 20 years and it shows.
A very happy...
Thanks for the advice.
mmmm, the price that you have to pay to remove a small dent.... I take it that you can by replacement brackets from Renault should my PDR man break a few in the process?
Phil,
The guy I am using apparantly has 20 years experience so hopefully he will do a good job. Are the plastic clips prone to break and if so can I get replacements easily from Renault? And the glue, is this for the rear section of the roof lining?
Cheers
James,
Thanks for the quick reply. So I am right in thinking that the roof lining is only glued towards the rear end of the car and that the front and middle sections rely on the grab handles/sun visors to keep in place?
Hi,
I have a couple of dents in my roof that have occurred from a couple of pine cones dropping onto it. I went to my local Renault Garage and they wanted nearly a grand for a full respray etc. I contacted a local PDR man and he has giving me a very good quote to remove them. He says that...
I have been getting this recently too. My car has done 15K on a 05 plate. I have owned from new. Other threads suggest tracking/ball joints etc, but I am hoping it is just the cold weather coupled with the front tyres nearing the limit.
Hopefully the new tyres should sort out the problem.
Yes my car does exactly the same. I will order some Yozza top strut washers and then change the 2 front tyres (the current ones have done 15K and are due a change very soon) I will get the tracking looked at and hopefully it will be sorted. If not, then I'm not sure what else can do. it...
Hi there.
I also have a clio 182 with both cup packs and I have noticed that my car is handling differently than when it was new. My car has 15K on the clock and FRSH and was bought from new in APR 05. It has just passed its MOT and still on original tyres.
Any ideas on what the problem...
That is what my maintenance booklet says. Therefore it looks like a service in APR 09 (2nd service) and then a major service in APR10 with both Aux and Cam belt replacement.
I'd better get some bloody miles on th clock and start enjoying my car!!
I am in the Bristol area. Do you know any...
Hi there.
I own a clio 182 from new in APR 05 and was wondering if you can provide any help/guidance please?
In APR 06 it had 5500 miles on the clock = no requirement for service.
In APR 07 it had its 1st Renault service with 9500 miles.
In APR 08 it had 13000 miles on clock= no...
