i've got me hands on a spare one, so i can have a play with it, see if i can make it any more interesting than it already is!!
the bulb at the back, any ideas what type it is? i want to change its colour, but cant seem to find a number on it.
if any one has done anything to their clock...
on apprx a 30 mile journey (15miles each way) its used just short of 7lts of water. It did boil over at one point, and water warning light came on.
its not leaking, as i stopped, and lay under it for good 10mins to see if i could see where it was all going, there is no mayo under the oil...
i saw these wheels when i was at a car show in Holland, and i really want them! But they had no logo or name on them, and the bloke who's car it was didnt speak any english!!
i want to get them, or something very similar in 15's, and go for the euro look. what size/ width woudl be best...
is the bit next to the power steering resevoir an egine mount?? mine looks very perished, and i have noticed lot more visable movement in this part of my engine than normal- would this be a mount problem?
alos it really stuggled to idel today when i 1st started it, it was in blinding...
grrr so cross some-one forced me ontop a kerb today, making a right mess of my alloy. i'm getting the clutch done in the next few weeks, so though i could stick the spare on, and get the wheel re-furbed,
does any one know of any places in the surrey area that are trusted, and do re-furbs??
how long shoudl it take? a friend of may dad's has offered to do it, but he wants paying by the hour. what's a normal amount of time this shoudl take please?
do you have to drop the gearbox, and the front sub-frame????
i think my clutch might need changing, which one should i get, as prices seem to vary quite a lot between BB and K tec, was prob looking at a group N one.
Will this actually last any longer than a standard one?
last night, i tried to pull away a bit quick, and well all i got was loads of revs, and a smelly clutch. is there any way i can check if the clutch is still ok, or if it needs replacing soon?
I need to do apprx 120 mile round trip tomorrow, and i dont want to end up getting stranded some where...
right, ive got everything wired in, and everything is working how it should apart from the the 2 smaller headlights, nearest the grill. they just dont do anything! any ideas on what the cause could be please?
Car is a mk1 16v BTW
my alloys arent chrome, but are more shiney than standard alloys, dont know what finish they are, but what alloy cleaner/ polish would be best, i have tried using turtle wax alloy polish, and it just stayed on my wheels i couldnt get it off!!
the wheels are Lenso RS5's if that helps any body...
i've just in stalled an old game, cos i'm bored! but it wont start, saying there is not enough system memory. how do i free some up? is this the same as RAM?
I have finally got my sunroof working again!! motor and all switches changed, an d now i have a fully working electric sunroof again!! and for a lot less than the 1k reno wanted to charge me. lets just see it it still leaks!!!!
is it possible to manually wind an electric sunroof closed, by turning the motor by hand in some way? my sunroof dies not quite closed, and its cold in this weather!
i have a new motor to be fitted, is this a difficult job? I have stripped away all the plastic around it, and can see the motor...
is it just me or is there loads and loads of mk1 valver and willaims parts on ebay, and being advertised in mags at the moment?
Do you think its down to al ot of them being broken for parts, and that they will start to become a rare (r??) sight on the roads?

i was thinking about going for white phase 2 wheels, with a 60mm drop, will this make it impossible to get over speed bumps??

are these any good? been offered a couple of sets of them for a good price, only about 6 months old, they dont look much, but have been told they sound the dogs.

How do you know if its gone? i feel like i'm starting to get a bit more play in the gearknob, when coming down from higher revs through the gears. its not the knob itself that moving it feel like the whole box.
any ideas if this is what it is, or if its expensive to change?
