Have read up a few things on detailing, stages etc. Just want to make sure I've got the right idea with all the products though! It's a bit of a minefield out there and I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing whilst using the right stuff.

local jet wash to get the main grub off
wash with 2 buckets using AG shampoo
clayed with maguires clay kit (impressed and...

Having owned the LY for a few months now I'm wanting to give it a good old clean up. I am very new to detailing and I'm wanting some guidance on what is going to best to use but without breaking the bank.
I am fine with washing/cleaning its more the polishing, waxing, sealing side...

Just read Gally's sticky thread on 'DA polishing' and I'm confuzzled.
Therefore two 2 questions:
1) What would a complete rookie like me need as a beginners kit to do a proper machine polish/clay bar...

Car washed, polished then protected with Dodo wax
Wheels cleaned with Bilberry, polished then protected with Poorboys sealant
Engine polished with Auto Glym metal polish
Bonnet storage compartment cleaned and blackened using Auto Glym bumper shine

After a longer working week than expected and the hot weather I put off my spring correction detail and ended up with just cleanse&protect routine.
Its by no means mint but looking a lot tidier now.
And I may yet add another layer of Glasur ;)

In preparation for FCS, I want to try and get the cup looking clean and tidy for once..
I have a rotary and various compounds and pads, I have SRP and HD wax. Clay, plenty of QD, loads of microfibres, wash mitts etc etc..

The Monaro's metallic black paint work isn't in the best of condition. Many swirls across the whole of the body, previous owners not following a the careful washing procedure at all. Hence I'm looking to have the paintwork returned to it's original splendour if possible.

im really getting into the detailing of my car. recently used autoglym super resin polish which came out superb but im convinced there is better out there maybe? ..... im polishing by hand aswell with microfibre cloths.... is it better with a polishing and buffing machine ?
