Old boy just drove into the back of me at a junction, it's not too bad only the rear bumper is cracked so could do with replacing and maybe an arch liner.
question is do i go through the insurers or do i get the chap to pay for a 172 bumper and to get it sprayed ?
so at the moment ive only got a 1.2 clio grande, but ive been looking at 172's and 182's. ive had mine a year and been looking at quotes for them.
cheapest quote ive had so far is just over £4000, which i wont pay. im 20 (with only 1 year NCB, only been driving a year) at the moment and live in...
Just thought I would make an interesting thread. How much do you pay to insure you car. Details like the car your insuring, your age and how many no claims you have if any.
Hey guys,
Recently brought a 182 as a weekend toy after selling my E39 M5 and got a few quotes online, Admiral came up the cheapest and I was planning to call them on my lunch break yesterday and buy the policy but Neil from Greenlight got back to my e-mail (I e-mailed Greenlight and Sky both)...
Renewed my car insurance a few weeks ago. Paid £950 for comprehensive cover with Diamond.
This was after being insured with insurethebox. I was with them for 11 months and a week before I ended my policy due to it being a limited mileage policy and I was about to go on a week long placement that...
Who would you say is personally the best insurer to insure a 23 year old (1 year ncb) on a 172 Ph1?
Heard Brentacre are good, and heard Aviva are also good, but who would you recommend?
Ta.
My son today got a quote from sky insurance for £4600 on his clio 172 , he's 23 no accidents no convictions held his full licence for 6 yrs and this is the price that was quoted, what a joke.
as the pre season scramble starts and its all about getting drivers in seats, its become apparent that our championship is moving away from the days where you race your own car, race is a loose term in that case.. drift.
we have teams owning cars and drivers just driving them, usually if you...
So I'm doing a novice day (my first time on track) and my dad says I need insurance otherwise he will disown me...
So where do I go for trackday insurance for a 17 year old?
Seeing as though I'm in a 1.2 and its a novice day, surely there isnt much of a risk of damage etc.
Any cheap ones...
Just got my renewal quote for my car insurance on a 1.2 Clio, I'm 21 with 1 NCB
Last year £3,026
This year £1,260
Really happy tbh I no it's expensive for a non sport 21yr old, but that's the best price Iv had and I haven't even shopped around yet.
What do you think I should do just carry on...
my wife has found insurance qoutes for around 700 pounds, but one insurance company keep popping up and there 500 pounds. just wondered if anyone have used them and if there worth using. just find it a bit strange being that they are massively cheaper than everyone else, unless im being...
When I was living in Edinburgh I was paying about £575 for a 172, 27 yo, 3 yeas NCB, parked on the road with Admiral.
Moved down to Bedford, it goes up to £900, (had 3 points added this time, 40 in a 30, doh)
I'm going to be moving to Milton Keynes soon so did some quotes on compare the market...
I've just had a quote on confused.com and I'm getting results of around £700+ to insure an unmodified £800 Ph1 172 and as a 30yr old male, with 6yrs NCB, doing less than 2000 miles per year and for social/domestic use only, that's mental!
WTF is that all about, why on earth is insurance SO high...
Thanks to Sam @ Sky Insurance!
Undercut all other more competitive quotes by at least £50 (Greenlight, Brentacre etc).
£95 lower than last year's premium and £150 lower than my auto-renewal quote from Flux!

its stuff like this that makes me hate insurance companies more.
poor guy, I hope he gets it sorted. And lol at recaros not adding value to the car!
it seems the cons of insurance far outweigh the pros now. But hey ho, what can we do ey.
Hi
Just had a thought. I have recently purchased a 200 cup, with Recaro's.
Got a quote of an extra £360 ish on top of my existing policy, but I forgot to mention any optional extras -.-
im assuming I'm going to get fisted by admiral for this, not picked up the 200 yet so noticed in time...
I've got my car up for sale at the moment and my insurance runs within the next week, i'm worrying that if it doesn't sell i'm going to have to pay another ridiculous amount only so that people can test drive it...? (I won't need to drive up until after xmas so don't have another car/insurance...
Im going to order the iphone 5 with the 0% interest offer, however i cant see any insurance offered, how would i insure it against breakage/lost e.t.c ?? im pretty clumsy!
Well it's time to insure my 172 again :( I had a renewal quote from markerstudy for 992 on third party fire and theft which is 50 quid more than last year :s. So I gave Neil a call at greenlight and he gave me an amazing quote of about 870 fully comp. Then I decided to call David at sky and tell...
Can someone please explain to me why a dci 65 is more expensive to insure than my 182.
I was looking to change to benefit from the cheaper running costs aswell as not using my 182 for what it was intended anymore.
I probably still will in a few months as the tax is only £30 and overall...
Well it's that time of year again, after paying £3k+ for my first year with my 182 (i was 18) i've just rung up Brentacre and had a drop of nearly £1300. Nice feeling to be under £2k. So yeah, if you are 19+ then i would highly reccomend Brentacre, this quote is with mods and my ticket :o.
Aim of this thread is to make a list of companies providing cover for learner drivers:
Please tell me when you get insurance so i can update this
[Phone Only] What is described here is only available through the phone
[BlackBox] Based on driving habits the next payment is calculated, the...
Now i need to explain specifics here , i know you can on a personal policy (how many realised that ? a way to reduce a premium by ramping up an excess and then re insuring that huh ? )
this is more specific can an employee insure against a large company vehicle excess (eg a policy not in their...
Just got the new 5 and selected the cover @ £12.99 as wanted it covered the minute I left the store.
A mate of mine has got his iPhone and mac covered with Protectyourbubble and its much cheaper than £12.99, just for the phone its like £5.99 I think.
Last time I spoke with my Bank Manager she...
I passed my test today and am now on the hunt for insurance so I can finally get off the drive. I was wondering who people found the cheapest for a 17 year old etc preferably who allow modifications as mines lowered ;)

Totally lost the plot with them today after getting some letters through the post.
On 1/11/12 i called them to inform them about getting a CU80 that day to keep my insurance all up to date and correct.
The sales advisor said that i had done the correct thing and that she would update my details...
Just had a quote to add my 23yr old brother onto mine, £10 extra a month. Asked about adding the GF on too at the same time, That wouldn't increase it any sir.
It cost me more to go on a dci80 earlier this year!
I'd like to know how they picked £10 out of the air though!
