1.2 16v Oil sump seeping.......3rd time

Hey all!!! doing my weekly check on my 2nd-time-repaired oil sump, little bit of oil on my finger i think!!! marvelous!! Its not got to the Dripping off sump plug stage yet.......but the early signs are there!! cool!!! So, its been to RENO LEEDS to have this fixed TWICE!!!!!! hahaha, after much talk about hoping it was fixed properly the last time, and was assured that it will be, woopee, 2000 miles / 2 months later, its seeping again!!! wicked!!! it was 3 months the first time, now 2, be down to weekly soon . Now with the K-tec exhaust on the way, i shall be informing them that they can FCUK right off if they decide to tell me anything to do with that exhaust is voiding any warranty, or causing any problems!!! Im gonna take it to another dealer, closer to home, as Renault Leeds service is obviously very good......and im also tempted to write a letter to Customer care, stating how upsetting this is (i have just been reading my booklets that ya get wi the car, pointing out how they want u to be totally satisfied etc etc.....LOL, i shall have some of that me thinks!!! nice letter, see what they have to say for themselves!!!)

So, none of you other 1.2 16v drivers notice any oil on the bottom of the sump, or on the plug????? or am i just expecting too much for a NEW car not to leak a bit of oil???? come on people, tell me what ya think!! Oil sump refitted twice for same problematic leak......now leaking again, same fault!!!! What are the gaskets made out of???? i dread to think!!!

Oh, its funny, tried to get it up on some ramps to look under it properly, the bottom of the bumper doesnt have enough clearance to get on the ramps lol!!! ill have to jack it and axle stand it!!!

the gasket is made of copper, mine doesnt leak and its done 35K!!!!!

mine leaked after 3K, then 12K, now a possible 14K lol

I had a similar problem when i had my R19 16v back in 95, though the problem was more down to the fact that the renault garage didnt tighten the damn thing up so it was leaking oil all over the place

Checked my oil yesterday and was shocked to find it was sitting at half only to months after changing the oil. Suspect i may have this weeping problem as well. Topped up the oil and will have to go to ren for a new sump plug gasket.

sump plug gasket would be ok............but its my SUMP gasket that has been replaced twice..........as in remove sump from bottom of engine and re-fit!!!
