right, sisters 1.2 16v 52 regd clio has been driving crap. that light with the square and zigzag through it came on (electronic system warning light) and it wont accelerate at all..

its been looked at and the only fault code on the system was a throttle pedal potentiometer?

anyone know if this is a common fault?

how much does it cost. someone mentione dit comes as part of the pedal unit so will be expensive??

this is where the wiring breaks , excuse the oil but one blew this 1.2 up ha ha

dont suppose you could be a star and circle the wire/bit that usually breaks??

when the AA bloke came out ages ago he did remove a big chunk of metal (like a u shaped cover) and said the wiring loom was rubbing on it so removed it.

could anyone indicate whereabouts the wiring breaks on the photo above??

also what do them two plugs go to?? the ECU??

really need to try and sort this.. else its a new part at 60 quid..

As indicated in the picture the wires break at this point. Cause by either the box or the metal around the wires.

It cuts thru the covering and also the black tape, cutting numerous wires.

The loom for that part is about £120
Plus fitting which can be well over £200 labour.

Its not a simple unclip etc....
Yes thats for the ECU

ECU will also need re-setting by a Renault Clip Machine.

Did they say what part?

That doesnt sound right at all.....sounds like the price of a new coil pack!
Not the wiring loom

apparantly the fault that comes up is the throttle pedal potentiometer (the one thats on the throttle pedal for the fly by wire system?)

and thats 60 quid for part..

the AA man the other year removed a black U shaped metal lid, which i think was from that area??
he said that it rubs on the wiring loom.. so its never been on since then and its been fine until now?

couldnt see any damage either earlier when i looked..

Well the throttle pedal is a complete part

If you need one i have a working one (checked no fault)

£30, its in Renault Box too.

£ nuts and a block connector to change over.

cheers i'll let u know if i want it Has

does anyone on here know the values the potentiometer should be at?

as i will be able to remove the pedal, and test the max and min pedal potentiometer resistance using a meter between the connections.

One it could be that injection loom as above, or a pedal potentiometer or spark plugs renault have sent a note out saying faults like this, poor running etc could be caused by spark plugs they have a number on the side like 3g for example if under this number then they should be changed but without seeing the car then its hard to say.
