1.2 PH1 MTV - My minimalist project

  Volantech CC Panels
Ever since being a little kid, I've always absolutely loved Clios, always been a fan of them and always will be. So I turned 17, passed my test and set out to buy a Clio. I wanted a Black 1.2 Ph3 Dynamique or something similar. Bearing in mind I didn't have a job, was still in school and didn't have rich parents, this was a pretty hard task to do. My original plans were to buy the car in March and sell it in September when I went to university. Cut a long story short, I bought it in March, went to university and didn't sell it, so I've now had it for over a year and plan to keep it for a few more years while I'm at university seeing as I leave it at home.
I've done a bunch of small things since I've already had it for a year but the nice stuff begins as of now that I have decided to keep it.

Here it is when I first bought it, the bodywork isn't great and neither is almost anything with this car but I was desperate for a car, and at the end of the day it was going to be sold, so I couldn't give many s**ts, it was a clio and was all i wanted.

The bumper trims were grey, there was a color mismatch on the rear but I wanted a car so badly I couldn't even wait to find a better one...

The previous owner must have thought it's a good idea to put house speakers in and wire them to the head unit, so I put new speakers in all round and a subwoofer, also a new parcel shelf as he had ridiculously big holes for them house speakers.

Got a bit excited and put this air filter in, which did make it sound nice, but my cat messed up not too long after putting it in so i took it off, i was pissed.

Put white headlights, interior lights, footwell lights and what not.

This was a regular occurrence until I got a new battery...

Didn't have many plans for the car apart from selling it so weren't going to spend any money on it at all, this is what it looked like in September when I left for uni and left it at home.

Ok so what is above is basically until now, that's what it looks like now, but from now on it will start changing.
I've just done front and rear brakes, oil, filters, wipers, new dogbone mount and number plates to pass MOT next week.

Mods that I will be most likely doing:
- Lowering 60/40 on springs and shocks
- Completely refurbishing the wheels and painting them white
- 16mm spacers all round
- Color coding the bumpers and/or side trims
- Buying new front bumper and maybe fogs as the current one is f**ked.
- Debade and desticker
- HID Conversion

This is sort of what I'm looking for:

Back home now from university so i'm able to get my little project going nicely. Started doing the lowering springs but i ran out of light, will finish tomorrow!
Lowering 60mm on the front and 40mm on the back, hopefully looks good!

Finally got it lowered!! Was an absolute nightmare getting 14 year old rusted bolts off when i had a 19mm socket and a 17mm but not the correct 18mm, but regardless of that they're on and it's lowered! Supposed to be 60/40, feels like it's lower at the back but i'm quite happy with the outcome for just £100 for both springs and shocks.

Next few mods i will be doing:
- Remove the MTV stickers

Next few mods i will be doing in the near future:
- Remove the MTV stickers
- 16mm spacers all round
- HID conversion
- Refurbish the wheels into white
and of course a clean and polish as it's been sitting there for like 5 months without being cleaned

  Clio RSI
definitely, although the bodywork isn't great. 15" - 195/50/15 although i want to swap for 195/45/15 which will get me 10mm lower to the ground

Get the buffer on it and that will make a massive improvement aswell, im going to do the same when my tyres wear

yeah an planning to do so soon, getting rid of the MTV stickers and maybe debadging the back so waiting to do that first to give it a good polish all over

Gave it a nice polish today, it's on an inclined surface so doesn't look like it's lowered at all... Just ordered 16mm spacers, going on the front for now. Feels like the car just isn't low enough ffs

Lmfao at the house speakers.... 10/10 for ingenuity.

Car looks much better lowered.
Please do not paint your wheels white. Will look crap and chavy.
Do them silver or anthracite!

Just put 16mm spacers on the back, it rubs quite a lot, looks like they're going on the front for now

If your thinking to remove those stickers, a quick blast with a heat gun or hair dryer and you won't believe how easy it is to peel them off

Painted the wheels white, love how they look with the blue of the car! Next up front 19mm spacers and rear 10mm spacers with -1.0 degree of camber!

Here is how it sits now. 16mm spacers on the front, 13mm on the back, -1 degree camber with more to come in the next few days
