1.2 TCE Dump Valve

I bought a KTR dump valve the other week but a boy round the town sounds a whole lot louder than mine.

any suggestions on why this is or how i can make mine louder?

The boy around town might be shouting louder?

Try removing the airbox and replacing it with a cone filter, or even an "uprated" panel. It's all about air flow.

All dump valves sound different, all sound chavvy though lol.

so adding an induction kit or something along those lines would help?

i was also thinking about chipping it would this not also make it louder as it increases pressure building up therefore making a bigger dump?

Yeah, you're right. Increasing the boost pressure with a remap would give you a louder DV.

Running an open filter would be cheaper though, if you just want extra noise.

Yes.

Any open filter, ideally.

Using an uprated filter element, in the OE box will help, but it won't be as loud as with an open filter.

sorry but what is an open filter? an air filter outside the air box?

Remove the airbox all together and cover it with a pair of tights, even better that way.

Yep, a replacement filter for the standard airbox. Just a normal cone filter, with no box. Like K&N's 57i kits.
