What sort of engine mods are the best and cheapest available for the 1.4 16v mk3?

How easy would it be to get about 110 - 115 bhp?

same principal with any engine: power is proportional to air induced.

uve got a good starting point with a 4 valve head.

increase flow of head (higher lift cams+headwork, T.Bs), increase CR (head skim, forged pistons), sort fuelling ignition (reprogramable ECU).

if u do this little lot correctly, u could literally double the power output. but, depends on ur budget...

Cheapest way is NOS 25hp whould be fine and 50hp still be reasonable safe.

If you want a more constant increase remap should give you 5hp (£500 for an unichip and proper remap). And cams another 5~10hp for 350.

The other way is exhaust and cold air intake and panel filter. No idea of costs though I guess $£150 for the intake and £200 for the exhaust. Gains may be 8~15hp
