1.4rt clio revs too high help!!!!!!

hi i have a 1.4 clio but just recently its been reving at 2000 revs wen i start it all the time even wen its warm help

u mean when it idles?

mine occasionally idles at sumthin stupid like 1.5-1.8k but few taps on the accelerator and it drops!

dunno y aint a sticky cable checked that! ne 1?

best thing to do is take it to a garage!

sounds like your autochoke is a bit buggered, see if you can have the ecu either replaced or re-flashed? or maybe one of the sensors which feeds the autochoke aint workin so well.

Mine used to idle rough (still is a bit, but most cars arent perfect).

In my case it was a cracked inlet manifold and then later on the gasket between the SPi unit and the manifold. IMO get it checked by a tuner then can test vaccuum etc...

mine done this (valver so dont know if there is a difference), found it was the idle control thingy which plugs into something that is on the breather pipe which comes off the manofold. Just plugged it on better and it was fine.
