1.5 Dci 65bhp MPG?

had my car about 4 months and averaging about 55-56MPG... is this low or high for this car? I do mainly 15-20 miles each journey.. but i have seen that the MPG should be up to 76MPG..

Am I doing something wrong to keep it this low LOL...

I'd say that was alright, unless all you're doing is 55mph motorway runs....

It's not a very powerful engine, so will need some effort to get going, same reason 1.2's are bad on fuel if you drive them like a 172 !

Wish my car did 55mpg.. I'd be happy haha !

that figure of 76mpg will never be an average, unless all of their miles are motorway and sitting at 60.

getting good fuel economy is 90% down to how you drive.

i believe its the DCi 80's that produce the best MPG figure as it takes less effort for the engine to move the vehicle. the 100's are about the same as yours.

Ah right :) Thanks for your replies. I do drive steady most of the time but sometimes I do get a bit "heavy footed" :p

work on your coasting and you may get some more MPGs

During those times where pay day is far but low-fuel is near, I've become quite handy at pulse-acceleration and coasting. 43mpg from the 172 on occasion.

Our dci 80 averages 65-70mpg on day to day driving (mainly single carridgeway A/B roads) but on a long run I can hit mid 80's no problem

I have a DCi 65 at the moment. I get an average of 60MPG + on A roads it seems even better getting 72+ as I barely get above 60mph

I once sat behind a tesco lorry and almost got 90MPG doing pretty much 60mph, must have been the slipstream.... god im sad lol

But £10 gets me pretty much 120 miles, pushing it with the light on though

I travel mainly at 70mph nearly everywhere i go as its all A roads or motorways, might try 60mph to see if that actually works for me :p but im always too tempted to put my foot down lol
