1.5 decat or sport cat?

  Renault Clio 1.5 DCI mk2
Hello, got a quick question here : i want to decat my 1.5 80bhp dci and was wondering if i should just replace my standard cat with a sport one...and will that do the trick?

sports cat will give SOME of the gains a decat will, but will pass an MOT. Decat will be better as its more free flowing, but will FAIL an MOT

K :) thanks for clarifiing that...I guess i'l be going for a decat then, but what should i do with the lambda ? I understand that there are 2 sensors, one before the cat and one after, right? if so, what should i do with the sensor after the cat?

You cannot decat the car as they don't have one in the first place.
There not like petrols a decat or reomving the internals of the smoke trap (the bit rirectly heind the turbo) won't many any more power unless you remap.
MOT isn't an issue you only have a smoke test there no test like the petrols have to have.
You don't have a lambeda its only petrols which have one. Petrols need it to work out fuel air raytios diesels can work on a huge air fule ratio without issues petrols need to keep air fuel ratios under a small range to work.
No insult meant to the duckatsport but what i've writted in correct he is thinking about petrols which are completly different than a dci
a decat won't get you any power though maybe a tiny bit quicker spool up but you'd barly notice it.
