1.6 16v performance

sorry reread that and it sounds rude- ill explain...well basically im scared of the motorways and have no sense of direction- hard to say without sounding like a girl

  Renault Laguna Coupe

Why not bring them all to York, June 20th, and run them up the strip. Thatll settle all the whos fastest arguments, and its a good place for a meet! Therell be loads of other Cliosporters there too.

This may cause some arguements, look at the second 0-100 run???

  Fiat Coupe 20v turbo

Is that AP-22? They are only as accurate as they are set up imo. How come the 0-70 times are the same for both runs but on the second run you make up LOADS of time from 70-100?

OK, so that makes them as fast 0-100 as my valver? ;) Any one near aberdeen with one so we can do a little "test"?

No matter how good it was setup (and it was!) you dont just lose a few seconds! It displays on the screen when it reaches each 10 mph interval, This was observed by someone else in the car.

yeah, so bareing in mind there was two people in the car when oakley did the timing, its probably faster still ;)

  Clio 1.6 16v 2003

the sheep=7 ( 1.6s are taking over!)

tried to post 6 hours ago but it said i had to wait as im still a forum user (20 posts in 1day)when actually i paid my membership nearly 2 weeks ago:mad:

log in details dont work.

anyway that 0-100 is outragous u listed 23 secs was it, i want to get mine teste out now. is there any mods on it?? engine that is?

P

peterh2

That 23sec time is within 0.5 a sec of a clio valver, not doubting thats what your AP22 thing read but I dont think it could have been properly configured, having drove a 1.6 16v and now owning a valver, once over 50 there is a very noticeable difference.

  Not a Clio anymore.....

So a 2000 1.6 is rather rare then? I too have a said rarity but a 2001 registered 1.6 RSi. Mmmmwwwwaaahaha ;)

And I have to say they are pretty nippy and give the VTR burberry baseball cap boys a good caning when I get the chance.:devilish:

just got back from giving mine a bit of a "run" :)

Only had the car since Monday, but am slowly starting to fine tune my driving to the new motor.

Its so cool being able to wind it up to !00 before youve reached the end of the slip road. Havent been passed !00 yet as i dont wanna risk it.

Is there any 1.6ers who aint happy with there motors?????

PS i hate rattles :p

  Clio 1.6 16v 2003

im gonna have a rattle curing day this summer, armed with silicon gel this sheet/wrap stuff and sponge.

probably have to take off every panel.

i did several tests on these (one in the wet) and got around 8.6 everytime i tested the 1.6 dynamique +

8.6 or .1 either side is realistic

my bro got a 1.6 16v =9

From milton keynes (central)

Had a viper kit fitted free by piperx themselfs, and its done a hell of a lot of difference in 0-60 times, acceleration and highger revs. I got a gtechpro on the order (simular to the ap22) so gona do some test on it before and after.

and bringin it to double figures...

mikesclio = 10 !!!!

big up 1.6 16v!

also well up for a meet, however, from essex, could do midlands though...

mike

ps i believe you oakley, of course, it would be in my favour to believe you!

  clio 1600 dynamique

super1600 = 11

am from staffordshire, so midlands meet would be good for me.

well happy with my motor, gets a bit twitchy but only when im going too quick round bends!

digging up an old thread here but anyways here goes.

Ive been doing some runs tonight and although the times arent dead accurate they give a rough guide of how fast these are.

0-65 clocked at 9.9 secs, so 0-60 is prolly close to 9.

0-80 was 14.5 secs - allowing for speedo inaccuracy this is probably more like 15 secs.

So overall pretty happy with the times, ok i know they;re not accurate but then again they cant be too far out :devilish:

  BMW e46 320 Ci Sport

lol @ Dazz, OLD THREAD DUDE! back from the dead muahaha. good job on times.9 secs for 0-60 seems slow (not for 1.6 just ingeneral) im sure one of us can break the barrier, ill try when i got decat on at santa pod...

yeah i was just guessing at the 0-60 cos i only timed to 65. Il do a 0-60 run over the weekend :)

i might try and get mine up the strip sometime over the summer to try and get some proper figures for the non-believers
