what mods have you been doing to your 1.6s and what bhp are you reaching.

What about stripping ie seats spare wheel

Ive got a 1.6
recon its a good balance between 1.2 and sport imo

mod wise the usual visual mods... engine wise cat back stealth exhaust and pipercross viper was going to get a rs tuning map but will be gone in the next few days so never got round to it

I had one when I first passed my test (54 plate) & had it for 2 years before I got rid... I do miss it now though as I paid for loads of xtras including Xenons & the uprated stereo as seen in a 172/182 at the time... The reg was: YP54 OWH.

standard vs standard they are slower than a vts due to it being lighter with atleast 10bhp more depending on if its a 120 or 130 version, they are quicker than VTR's though... just!!

here is my 1.6 i loved this car just spent thousands getting the new engine alloys and lowering then some bellend wrote me off :( insurance is still going through.

out of interest, power wise, one thats been cammed,full exhaust system with S/S mani, pipercross Viper kit etc and re-mapped to suit all the mods - how would it fare against something like a std VTS?

The Saxo's are light which helps them. There are a couple of 1.6 16v K4M's knocking around with 140bhp I'm sure with that power they're a little bit quicker than a standard Saxo VTS. Saxo's as standard are around 80Kg's lighter though and are very tunable themselfs, reality is that few are standard.
