1.8 16v Centre Console.....

Been looking at pictures of 1.8 valvers and have noticed a few with the centre console (bit with the gear lever coming through it) in black.

Could anyone tell me if this was standard or has it been painted for some reason?

Painted.

Every one Ive seen is grey.. same as the dash..

Only black ones ive seen are in the lesser models.

I have one from a 1.4.
Also have a grey one from a 16v/willy.

I have just checked - the console in the red car I am selling is definately black

The ones with the horrid seats and the badges on the B pillars.

I have a 5 page report on from "car" dated Jan 92 and it has a lovely update on the prgoress of their ph1 J reg valver, the console in that was grey and they mentioned they had got the car 2 months before it was due for the public?

Bit of a rogue that one methinks!

Mines mid August 92 (K)

Strange - when I had my RT there was a guy with another RT with almost the same plate yet his had slightly different bits on it.

mines a black valver but the consoles grey! gonna spray it black tho (when i get round to it!)
