Strap a Pipercross straight onto the TB, sounds wicked on the valver, get a good supply of air to it and maybe a heat shield (make one)

yeh ive got a pipercross forced induction system at the mo. i dotn actually get the car till 16th jan. so im planing things at the mo. not sure where its going to go ...either to the rear of the engine ( near the bonnet intake ) or to the front. i think the bonnet intake may be safer as theres more room. its a more direct flow of air and less water. as i think ive had some pullde sucking problems with mine as its right at the front behind the bumper at the mo.

and whats a * TB * ?

cheers

Wouldn't really recommend putting it below the vent on the bonnet! That's directly above the exhaust manifold which gets VERY hot, so the problems you will have are:

1) You will be blocking some of the air from blowing down onto the manifold

2) The induction kit will be sucking in all the hot air from the manifold (heat rises). If you chose to combat this by sheilding the IK with something, you'd be further blocking the air from reaching the manifold

3) Might get some splashes of water hitting the IK if it's raining (obviously not a good thing), although i'm not sure about that.

It'd be far better placed near the front of the engine, with a cold air feed to it and sheilded from the rest of the engine.

I could be wrong though :)

Just fitted the K&N kit to my Valver, with a heatshield. Looks nice and sounds amazing. :) You'll probably loose some bhp in hot weather, but hey, it's England it's more cold than hot!

ive got the origional airbox with a pipercross filter element inside well good, but i have a pipercross induction kit with the polished heat shield as above made by "green" the airflow company and it sounds evil with my full exhaust system but its fast and more responsive with the airbox and replacement filter inside

nice . i think im just going to use my current filter nd run it 90* off the TB to the front. does anyone know where i can get the air-flow thing that pushes the air to the manifold from the bonnet vent ? as i dont seem to have one :(

something like this .... but with my airfilter.... and im going to get either a metal or carbon-fibre heat sheil made . and run the intake off the filter straight tto the bonnet.... might (MAAAYYYBEE) make a direct port into the front of the bonet. not sure.
