My mates Clio (N reg 1.8 8v automatic) failed the MOT on emissions the other day.
He was told it was probably the lambda probe so he removed it (said it was very white like it was running lean) and cleaned it up with brake cleaner. I just checked it with a multimeter and it seems fine from what Autodata says.
I also just checked the intake temp sensor (the one in the induction pipe) and that seems to be about 1k ohm when it should only be near that at about 50 deg C (it's currently about 30 but I removed the pipe so it cooled, retested and remained about the same). Could this be the cause?
Is there anything else that should be checked, if so, for what?
Thanks
