My m8 has an Audi A3, chipped and filtered. The filter makes it sound like a Dump valve for some reason. Sounds like a chirp when the boost is released. Not sure how this works but its the same engine I think so it might do to get a IK for yours.
recirculating dump valve recirculates dumped pressure to the front of the compressor (where air goes in), so as to keep compressor speed up when u let off throttle during gear change
You can but a recirulating one on the engine but the problem is you need to disconnect some air sensor or something I forget what ist called. Apparently the exhaust has a sensor in it which can check the air fuel mixtures and this takes over when the intake sensor is giving false reads however you do get a check enign light or return to delaerlight as the computer knows the intake air senors faulty.
Recirculating ones return the air from the turbo back to the trubo intake however dump ones let all the pressure out to atmosphere.
The OEM ones are unless if you get one chipped the tunners recomend a swop to a decient one. Even VAG enigneers admit its uless even more so for cars running higher presure (ie chipped ones) VAG dealers will always have a few dump valves due to the amount they break.
