probably because you haven't thrashed it enough, its built to take it, the number of cars on here that get belted round track all the time and you're worrying about reving it to 6K??? Strap some bricks to your right foot!!

Theses engines are built to perform though, they can take it, providing it's well looked after in terms of servicing etc.

No offence intended matey, but that would have probably been either because there was something worn, or the belt was overdue a change, not from reving the engine.

Mine is on 137k now, and running throttle bodies, and it gets looked after well, but also driven hard and its fine, as Fred has said the average chip will raise the limiter to circa 7800 anyway, not that you need to rev it ti that, but they will cope with 7000 rpm all day long.

Why should he get ready for tears?

It's a simple enough job to adjust the timing.

well its a tricky one to call as technically your warranty is with the people that did the previous work, so in other words in order for me to touch it and warrant my work i'd request a new cambelt kit, but if you didn't want that then no probelm, but if it were to fail 12months down the line it wouldn't be my problem!

As above, not viable to remove both the belts & put them back on again as it throws up a plethora of warranty problems / nevermind the simple problem of it being half arsed workmanship.
