105 miles too much for a new car?????

  Merc
My luck... Received a phone call from the dealer today after i purchased the car the other day telling me that the car has done 170km (105 miles) meaning it has been used as a demo. The dealer says that he can not do any discounts but if i wish he can return the money. My hands are tied because i want this car really bad and being the last one of its kind available doesn't help, its not like i can say i'll order another one cause they don't fabricate them anymore. What do u guys think i should do?

They know they'll just sell it to someone else, just buy it and enjoy. :)

I'd be f**ked off if I was you mate, its taken away the feeling of getting a car thats just yours. However 105miles isn't really much mileage so the car should be 'as new'. Personally I think I'd fob them off for a little bit of time and get a hold of RUK and complain like f**k at them and see what they come back to you with. If you were promised a new car for that price and then they give you this with no other option or discount thats not only bad service but its also false advertising.

It's not the mileage that's the problem really.... It's the fact that it's probably had the bullocks driven
Off of it from brand new. Not ideal.

However, I'd still buy it.

Most people who arn't on these forums drive the bollox of RS's when they first get them anyway.. theres a lot of disagreement if it actually makes a difference.. buy it and rake the balls outta it. Ask for a first free service as you didn't get you're full 12k miles out of it :)

I dont think RenaultUK extend their responsibility to Renault dealers in Gibraltar :rasp:
As Fred@BTM said, get them to include a free service then just enjoy.

I don't think that the salesman would have been too happy with the test driver sitting next to him driving like a mad man.

When I test drove one, the dealer encouraged me to thrash the b****cks off the car.
We were doing about 60mph, and he said "drop it into 3rd, put your foot down and dont change gear until I say". Did so, took it up to redline (whilst the engine still cold).

Id still have it, but id definitely want some freebies, as essentially it wouldnt be a brand new car to me as im guessing loads of other people have been in it.

That's because they don't understand about hitting the limiter whilst the engine is cold.

105miles is nothing. Delivery mileage is something like 10-15miles isn't it? Plus it wont of been trashed for long. Like said, get a free service out of it and some petrol :)

Lol excactly, 4-5 miles of getting ragged to f**k from cold by each test pilot, no danger lol.

Lol, most people who would of test drove it would more than likely would of pootled about in it. If everyone thrashed it from cold for the whole of the test drive yes it will f**k it up.

Besides it's a clio. It'll go wrong sooner or later.

If they're not budging then a service might be too far but I'd be pushing hard for at least a tank of fuel! Call it a gesture of goodwill - You'll be sure to recommend them to friends.

TBF it still has 3 years 60k warranty.

And if engines are like on here very very rarely hear of one breaking, it's 99% of the time cambelt going.
