hmm, wouldnt mind a go of the old AP22, last time i tried (with a bog passenger!!) got 7.1 i think. Good results those!

Must be tuned adi cause ive never been beat by a 106 Gti when all things were fair.

106 GTi 0-60 = 8 sec in the book doesnt it?

I might buy an Ap22, you could make a mint from letting people use it - say, £5 a run? Make ya money back and yer quids in!

Daz.

just had a couoke of races with one. had K&N, and exhaust, i have raced him before in dry and beat him. this time my starts were not too hot and he managed to pull significantly until i got power down, although as soon as i did i was reeling him in, 1st,2nd going past him by third, same happened twice, 2nd time got a bit of a better start so was closer

my mates has a zorst an filter, it didnt used to be that quik, quik but its defo faster only thing hes done is replace a knacked map sensor an finally sort out the blowin zorst

i still pull away but not by a huge amount, think it must be a good one cos hes raced another 106 gti and won by a fair amount

Peugeot are notoriously conservative with their performance figures. They state the 106 GTis 0-60 as 8.7! Thats because they do their calculations with a driver, passenger, tank of fule and luggage.

My mate has got a 106 GTI with just a back box on it. Really quick car, went to Aintree with him from North Wales a couple of weekends ago and he couldnt keep up with my 172, even when he took me to pick my car up from Burnley and i was running it in he said he couldnt keep up with me. Not a lot in it though, we both floor it from rolling @ about 30mph and all the way up to 90 there seems to be about a 2 second gap in my opinion.

Kinda...

Its 0-62mph (100kmh) with a driver, a passenger & a full tank of fuel, hence cr@ppy times from Peugeot. They do it with all their cars.

However, when they were tested 0-60 as per normal (like other cars) they are actually 0-60 in 7.4secs!

nice cars the 106 GTis

Seriously looked into getting one, but I think it is fair to say the 172 feels nicer is more refined, better build quality, more room, loadsa extras like climate control etc.

The 106 GTi was just too dated for me, the 172 looked much more modern.

I think the reason the 106 GTi is so fast is becuase it is so light, and you can tell this when you close the door, feels really tinny like my old 205 GTi. But the 106 GTi really slows down if you have more than 2 people in it. feels very slow with 4 adults in it, I dont think the 172 suffers so badly due to the bigger engine.

But all in all a cracking we car.. I wouldnt feel ashamed if I got beat by one (not happend yet though..;))
