12 Valves......

How on god's green earth did they manage to get an engine with 12 valves on it.

what did it have 1 and a half cams on it or somehitng ?

Yeah there are a fair few 3 pot engines, although it'd have to be twin camshaft still for 12 valves??

I assume your refering to the Corsa 12v, I always thought it meant '12 volts' judging by their acceleration.

The Corsa 12v is a 3 cylinder engine...so is the same as a 16v engine but with 1 less cylinders (hence 4 valves less)

not too bad, its almost like the sohc 16v honda engines, 1 cam lobe, with 2 followers.

Nope you don't have to, the 1.2 16v engine is SOHC. As Dan says you use twin followers to operate two valves off one cam lobe.

its true, having driven the 3 cyl polos, they sound vaguely skyline esq.
