13’s to 16’s on a 1.2

i have a 1.2 phase 3 MK1 and i have recently gone up from 13s to 195/45/16, do i need to change anything on the car? and will the acceleration (what of it) be affected, plus the speedo will be out wont it?

You may not get to 60 anymore with 16s ! LOL ! Seriously tho, yI should imagine your acceleration will be affected, someone will confirm this. I should imagine your speedo will be out to but saying that your tyres should be low profile compared to the standard by quite a distance so the radius of the wheels may not be that much different but will still be affected I think.

i must say i havent really noticed any slower acceleration, and i can get full lock which i was really surprised at

I noticed a big diff in top speed when I put my 15s on!

my 1.2 wont do the ton anymore ... should do it with the smaller wheels on but wont with some 15s on

iv got 16s done notice much speedo difference, IMO speedo shows quicker than u are actually goin but i dunno!!

acceleration will drop but at the end of the day i never bought a 1.2 for accelleration, i bought it as i couldnt yet afford the insurance on somethin quiker till im out of uni so i dont mind as long as it looks good!!

Well, my speedo says 70 when Im doing 74 (According to my old Sat Nav).. but it seems to change around a bit.
