16v and 8v parts

  1995 Clio RSi 1.8
Hi,

At a guess I would say that most of the engine parts for a 16v would be completly different to the engine parts of an 8v, but then again I dont know that much about cars and I could be wrong! :clown:

I am only talking about engine parts here, so are there differences big between 16v and 8v clios? I have an old RSi which is 8v, and most parts I look at are for 16v williams or 1.8 16v, what are the chances of them fitting, probably next to none!

Anyways thanks in advance for any help,

Cheers,
Raining

whoooot

:)

I guess i was right then, completely different engines. Well moving away from the engines then, what about the breaks, and exhaust bits like that (manifold) will they be different too?

the engines are almost completely different. If you are talking about parts for the engine itself then hardly anything will fit, other than the gearbox and driveshafts. All internal parts and manifolds are different to my knowledge.

posted that before your last one. Brakes are slightly different. They use the same calipers but the rsi carriers are different. This means that smaller diameter discs are used on the rsi, but you can convert them to 16v breaks just by getting new carriers, but you would also need bigger wheels I think, as iirc the RSi wheels won't clear 16v breaks (but someone else can say either way as I'm not really sure.) As I said manifolds are different, but I would think that the exhausts would be interchangable from the downpipe back.

exhaust will fit, from the cat, wheels fit, breaks will fit, all panels will fit, rear shocks fit, springs fit, wipers fit
