16v vs willaims new car problem

Currently i am driving a seat ibiza 1.4 which i have had since i first started driving and i use a mrk1 clio 16v that i got for a grand for work ect.
this is my ibiza

basically i am ready for a change and i am wanting a fast fun car like the 16v rather than all looks and no go like my beeza. i cud put a new engine in the beeza but i no it will neva handle and b as fun to drive as the clio.

so basically to cut the story short ive fallen for mrk1 clios lol and im in the process of selling my beeza.

before i jump into getting a clio i wnted to find out abit more info and everyone on this forum seems to b quite helpful. I have seen a few clios wit turbos fitted and seen videos of them and they look absolutly awesome anybody got ne feedback or views on them??

also why are the turbos mainly 16v and not williams??
i wud av thort the willaims engine wud av been stronger???
also if i was to buy a non tuned clio which engine is best to tune???

oh and dont worry i wont be kitting a williams up or out there mint how they are!!!!

ps ne help wud be very much appreciated

get coilovers and a vag 1.8t lump and keep that gorgeous ibiza, i love the mk2 beeza especially in that colour, and the 1.8t is good for upto 440bhp!! with decent suspension it handle just aswell as a mk1 clio

There no real reason 16V not Williams are done the Williams does make a bit more power I'd think there more 16V's out there so more would be converted and many Williams owners try to keep the cars standard or spend the money elsewhere.
The WIlliams engine is thinner clyinder walls but there no real huge difference I don't think.
Personally I'd get the Williams realy as it has many of the modification that people do to 16V ie 2.0 bottom end and wider track as standard. However if its your only car and you need it to be reliable to be honest I'd get a new car.

Its also pointless/waste of money turboing a williams engine. The whole benefit of the 2 ltr is the greater torque...if you're turboing it you may as well buy a vastly cheaper 1.8 lump and up the boost a little bit more to compensate...it'll come to the same torque at the end of the day.

Thanks i love my beeza too lol and i have thort long and hard bout a vr6 engine or a 1.8t but i dnt reckon it wud be as much fun throwing it into corners and avin all the wheels scraping on the arches n dnt think it will ever handle that well. but ur very welcome to buy it off me and prove me wrong lol

back to the clio tho.
a few different views!!! im thinking from them at the mo the 1.8 wud b the way forward if i was to turbo it.
if i cudnt afford to turbo it wud the williams be a better starting point then???

Yes, if you're not turboing it then 2ltr is the best way to go. However, as the engines are basically identical, theres nothing to stop you tuning a 1.8 then bolting on a 2ltr bottom end once you've a bit of cash.
