17 what effect on acceleration

Does anyone Know how going from 16" to 17" wheels effects the acceleration.

These would be fitted to a clio cup.

There is plenty of stuff on the speedo accuracy but nothing on how the incresed gearing might effect the car as well as the change in unsprung weight on the handling

If they are 205/40s on 17s the rolling radius will not be too much different from 45s on 16s, dont buy cheap/heavy rims as these are not good for handling/acceleration. Some supperleggas would do the job.

check the difference in circumference between old and new on the Homepage-Modifications-Wheels link - theres a website to check.

Your 172 can haul those 17"s no problem. And your speedo will be more accurate than before (they under-read significantly, with the 17"s on theyre closer to reality).

*edit* - and remember youll want to lower the car a little too.

i would have thought they would make it marginally slower but you might not even notice it.defo get it lowered because 17s dont half jack up the back end on them.get a few in at work and they look like monster trucks on the back.
