Thought the Williams put out way more then 150bhp as stock in most cases, more like 160bhp, so thats only another 10bhp to find, filter, zorst, chip or headwork should get you there.

its been done

two in the club i know of

adi 2.0 16v hill power modd to 175bhp

leigh williams 1 hill power modd to 173 bhp

and gazza bb tunning modd 180 odd bhp

if u want at the wheels 170 bhp more work is needed

Yea, its easy to get 170 at the fly with the Williams - mine only has exhaust and panel filter and has 167bhp :)

Hi, dudes, my name is Jorge from Argentina. I own a Williams 3. It´s almost in mint condition. I have its engine modified (camshaft, valve cover, chip, green conical air filter and a high performance decat exhaust system). I guess its around 180 - 185 bhp. I´m going to benchtest it soon. I´m looking forward to taking it to the dragstrip soon, to test the quarter mile performance.

There´s a Clio Williams owners club in Argentina. We gather a couple of times per month and hang around. We also tour at high speeds. (Mine speedometer gauge reaches 240 kph !!!. ;) Habitually we join between 10 and 20 Willys, being them all type 3. (200 Williams 3 arrived here between 1994 and 1995).

If you feel curios about, please browse our site cliowilliams.com, where there are lots of pictures and videos available. There´s also a section in english and of course you are welcome. :)

Cheers

i think r.e rollers must be a bit high lol

mine wud hav made nearly 200 horses on them rollers

urs has gotta be a genuine 160-165 at the fly from zorst de-cat and panel filter

Well mine as standard got some strange figures but it got 163.5bhp which seems correct as per the AP22. So to get to 170bhp at the fly you shouldnt need too much.

But different cars put out different figures and it depends how lucky you are.

More importantly different rolling roads put out different figures aswell so you can only claim power rather than prove it, bit like qtr miles, its depends where you do it.

I am convinced mine has more than 150 standard, but i thought it was maybe just cos it was light. Is it true they put out more power than they should?

lol!

john nobles was bullsh!t tho its well low them rollers i dont know how 2lives can make 149 at wheels at r.e and 120 odd at john nobles

i think r.e is a bit on the high side and jonh nobles was on the low side tho but still over 20bhp at wheels on diff rollers thats not right

adi

I suppose some make more power than others depending on the state of the internals - if one engine has more parts that are nearer the blueprint figures then surely itd make more power though be seemingly standard?

apprently mean was "lean" at Nobles too?

funny thing is the results between the 3 stooges (ie me, jon and gaydi) were all consistent with RE, they werent the same figures but the difference was similar.

think adi beat me by 0.6bhp.

bastid.

standard with decat my valver got 141bhp at PE, but to be honest minor differences in BHP means f**k all when your on the tarmac

  mk2 172

yeah the rollers tend to vary miassively if its a different manufacturer. mine has 140 horses yet its faster than paddys, strange eh;)

Yes all of them are Williams 3.

There´s a number in the engine bay. But no plaque on the dashboard. As far as I know, all of the Williams sent to Argentina (200 units) did not have any numbered identification.
