172 -60mm

I have a Clio 1.6 16v Dynamique with a 172 Bodykit on it with the turini alloys. Does anyone have a 172 with the same wheels have their car dropped -60mm? If so, can you give me your comments to the ride improvement from the standard height.

60mm is a lot on a 172 - its already quite a bit lower than the other models, and Im not sure you can buy springs that will go this low, so it would have to be coilovers (expensive).

fred is the man you want to speak to, youll need coilovers he has 17s and a huge drop on his 1.2 so he will be in the best position to advise on ride and handling, i know it goes round corners well but not sure about the ride quality as ive never asked him

I would go with the the Eibach kit (50mm?) The springs are progressive..and get the spax dampers off of their -55m spring kit. Think that would be just about the best setup you could get on lesser models.

My 172 is lowered 45mm made with coilovers and it is really bumpy already definately wouldnt go for 60mm Unless you really want to get alot of use from your reset button in the engine bay, 45mm is adequate a looks v low, handling is amazing.

mine is set at about 40/45mm on coilovers and the 17s rub the front liners on full lock, the ride is fine tho and the handling is pretty much spot on

What are the rears like on the H&R? Are they baby versions of the fronts or threaded springs and telescopic dampers?

God!!! Would you lot learn how to read!!!!!!! LOL!!!!

He hasnt got a 172!!!!

a 172 dropped 60mm is only possible on coilovers

BUT this chap has a 1.6 and if you lower it 60mm it will be equal to a 172 dropped 40mm

(40mm is the biggest drop available on a 172 with JUST springs)

ET VOILA!!!!

True!!! Your getting too clever mr lunner!!!!

Oh as for ride improvement!! erm this gets worse when you lower, but handling is better

Im riding at standard height at the mo on my dynamique. R-Tec said it is no problem dropping it -60mm and their is no tyre rubbing what so ever. But i wanted to have a exhaust from K-Tec with a K2 style taipipe and the Rear valance K-Tec do for the 172. Do you guys rekon i will have a problem? please private message me. I will appreciate it very much.
