172 Acceleration Question

Just a quick Q to ask.

Sitting on the M-way the other night at say !20. If I put my foot flat down, it would pull very quickly, but when I lifted up to say 3/4 throtle, it pulled up no problem!? Strange. I thought it might be over - fueling, and thats what I would put it down to if it were carbs (not to hot on the injection systems). This is only noticable at high speeds. The only mod is a K tec full system.

Any ideas?

This has been mentioned before. Foot to the floor doesnt seem the best method at high speeds. I cant remember the reason behind it, something to do with getting air into the engine I think?

Ill await the correct answer too? :D

Difficult to make out what your trying to say lol..

are you saying it would pull harder on 3/4 throttle than flat out ? any mods ?

We get a fair bit of practice at triple digit speeds over here and I can tell you that the only way to go fast is foot to the floor. Anything less than wide open is slower.

that would make sense! lol, but its not the case with my Cup. And maybe a few others from the sounds of what Lee is saying.

Isnt it that the throttle response when you lightly touch the accelerator is very good, and then the further you depress the accel, the less that initial punchiness is there and therefore you percieve it to be slower!?? But its not.

I have noticed something along the lines that youre describing...I think?!
