172 advice needed please

Ive just been to look at a 172 at a local gargage, just driving along and it caught my eye.

Anyway went in to enquire about price and mileage, well they said £6999 and its done 45k its a black 03 plate aswell. I also had my old banger with me and they said they would give me £500 for that and i also managed to knock £500 off price.

Is this worth going for or will i find better value for money elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for your advice

6k with a service, etc etc sounds oookkk, but not great.

7k = Private buy 182 money.

Only thing being i cant get my hands on cash so will have to go through finance. Obviously i would prefer a 182 but i cant afford 7k :(

Bank loan? If you buy that car from a garage on finance, you'll pay over the top for the car, by about £2000. (ish!)

If you take out some shitty companies finance like all secondhand garages use (i used to be one of them!) they'll charge you 7% flat.

Over 4 years, thats 1,950 interest, paying back £187 per month.

So you'll pay £2000 over for the car, and about 1k over the top for your finance over what the bank will lend you.

thats £3000 more just for being lazy!!

Work it out.

Definately cheaper around. I bought a '53' with 34000 miles from a dealer for 6.5K with full history and 2 years parts and labour warranty.

Cheers for the advice people, I have decided to cool my interest in this one and wait for a while longer cos id prefer a 182.
