172 alarm - keeps going off!!!!!

Hi,

my alarm on my clio keeps going off, i have already disconnected the thing above the interior light, which i think is for the motion sensors in the car, and then it stopped, but i came in to work today and it kept going off, the car is not locked at the minute, which is a bit riskey, any idea how you can just disable the alarm so i just lock the doors??

The motion sensors are the ones on the door pillars.

The alarm should have been fixed but if not there are some common fixes.
1) Swop the two wires from the door pillars this reduces the sensitivity from 80 to 20%
2) Close the air vents and angle thm away from the sensors.

You can lock the car just with the keys in the lock. There is a way of deactivating the inerier sensors but I cannot remember it at the moment.

Just read up you have to sit in the car with the doors closed then turn the ingition on then of then on then off again. You have to do this in under 7 seconds. Then when you get out and lock the car the lights shoudl flash twice and the beep 4 times. This will show that the interier sensors are switched off.

find out what sensor is setting it off, read the number of led flashes next to the gear stick, compare it to your alarm manual..

if it is the sensors as edde says just swap your wires round.
