I just washed my car and took it for a spin to blow the water off. I just came down the slip road onto the dual carridgeway and saw a new Golf GT infront.

We follwed each other for a bit round various roundabouts and back down the dual carridgeway again and all I can say is ..... they are f**king rapid cars! It felt like I had the edge on him but not by much and considering it was the sales rep out in a brand new car that had not been run in.

I might go and book myself a test drive and see what they are like from the other side of the glass. Just seems wrong that a 1.4 can put up such a good effort though!

there not light engines, dont be fooled by cc. there 140kg more than the standard 1.4 units. its 2.0 fsi (out the gti) weight territory.

Reports have been good though so far.
