And the same as the new Laguna!

Ive got Tarox G88 40 groove discs up front and Tarox fast road pads all round. Stops better, less brake fade but the ABS does like to cut in more

Is it really worth spending money on this? The brakes are one of the better points of a 172. OK they fade when they get really hot on a trackday, but I wouldnt have thought this would be a big enough issue to warrant spending all that wonga replacing them?

The brakes are spot on....why try to upgrade and spend mege amounts when it really isnt necessary.

Possibly fit grooved discs and F/r pads but even as Geoff said it changes the whole dynamics of what is possibly the best system ive had. Try stopping a diesel Vectra above 50mph....scary!!!

Have a look at the Cliosport article "Autocar (13th July 2000) " Why would you want to upgrade brakes that have a 100-0 mph spec at 3.99 secs?

If youre worried about brake fade why not fit cross-drilled / slotted vented disks on the front with the same diameter and with the standard pads.

I have "big" brakes fitted on my 280 bhp Audi S2 ....great when heated up but a pig when cold. The brakes on my Audi arent a patch on the Clio II 172, even when hot!!

Yep Simon, I would agree. The braided hoses will give a slightly firmer middle pedal. The DOT 5 is less likely to boil under duress. Only problem is that it will require flushing more regulary compared to standard fluid to keep up the efficiency.
