172 carbon engine cover

We have just had a quote to make the carbon engine covers which would mean we would have to sell them for £250+vat to stand a chance of getting back any of tooling costs. The question is do you think this is too expensive for an engine cover or would you be happy tp pay that. The quality would be superb and they could be available within a month. If this does seem too much then they will probably never get made.
Any feed back would be grately received.

Sounds expensive...i would prefer some more practical carbon products...like a mk2 172 bonnet (lightweight) or an improved carbon airbox with nice filter inside....something we can make use of..

i am interested in buying a fair amount, but that price is quite alot. WHat sort of tooling costs do you have to cover? since you got a quote, is it not in-house?

Ben, I replied to your mail yesterday, did you get it? We do not make carbon components in house, that gets subbed out. Tooling costs are around the £1000 mark.

they would look fab, but being in HK, shipping and possible damage to the carbon is too risky, and i would need to recieve orders before i could commit.

Too expensive for me. £250 goes a long way towards a set of tyres for a track day
