172 cat-back exhaust

  Clio 172 cup
my 172 has developed a blow in the exhaust so getting a new one, was wondering if there is any preference for decent sound/any performance increase at all? and also if anyone has any information on the skorpion cat-back (google/makers website if being less than helpful)
any information/opinions welcome :)

cheers

This was my first modification because the middle section had it.
I went for the K-tec Supersport Stealth but have ended up putting the silenced middle section in (so now its just a stealth system) as it was too loud for my liking. It really is about personal preference and what you want. I didn't want an exhaust tip showing so went for stealth and I didn't want a really loud system because of the miles I do.
I have found this exhaust to be spot on, really nice note when opening it up, no deafening drone when on the motorway and the fit is perfect.
As for performance, I have read that no gains are likely until you mix it up with a few other mods and get a remap.

would any of the non recessed exhausts need the bumper cutting, because thats a deal breaker. means your kinda stuck with your first choice :/

By this do you mean the 'stealth' exhausts? Where the tip bends towards the floor? These sit behind the bumper and don't require the bumper to be cut.
If you're on about with a visible tip, you can sit them below the bumper so no cutting is required again. Have a look about at some project threads/pics and see what other people have gone for.

I'd advise getting some new mounts whilst you're at it...I'm finding mine are sagging after a month or so! The design of them is rubbish so have zip-tied a socket into the rear mount to stop the exhaust dropping. Works a treat now :)
