172 cup ECU

If I wanted to go to a throttle cable on my 182 cup could I use the ECU from a 172 cup instead of Omex and the like?

No. The Cup is also FBW.

Renaultsporrt do a kit I beleive including ECU loom and throttle body.

Nick Hill has done one using this kit I think.

Yes. Only the ph1 172. The 172 Cup, being a ph2 172 in essence, is FBW.
