172 cup engine

Right - I may be totally wrong with this... But I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 172 cup engine was 'cherry picked' for suitability. Can anyone shed some light or tell me I'm way off the mark! ;-)

Do you mean, the best engines were hand picked for the 172 Cup? I'd heard it was the case for the 182 Trophies but I can't see that being true to be honest.

The RR meet Steve? Going to try my best to make that. Would be interesting to see if the decat and ph-1 airbox have improved BHP from the last time mine was RR'd.

Dont believe that they were cherry picked... although on rolling roads they bhp atf translates better to atw figure due to them not having aircon. Although this is disputed as well but I have seen cups make better results in terms of trans loss.

Only difference is some have RS inlets which flow slightly better and as Avstar has said less loss due to no air con

Lol I didn't ditch you, I couldn't make it up there in time due to work, the other meet was at 6pm so I went to that one :rasp:. Again it's down to work if I make it to this one.

Mine made 175, doubt it'll make that on RSTunings Rollers though.
