172 cup help

Just had a call of a mate saying he his going to view a cup and needs belts doing, the guy has a cambelt/defaser kit which is in with the sale of the car.
question is how much would he be looking for someone to fit the kit

Mates rates £100, proper garage £150 plus the cost if an oil and filter change.

I looked at this, the ad anyway. 191bhp?. And I'm sure a silver cup on here had aircon etc so I'm sure that's right. If you want aircon by a standard phase 2 for less

That looks ok for the money really. Especially with the belt kit and dephaser to go with it. Get it fitted by a specialist (Birchdown for you I suppose?) and you can't go wrong!

He said its ok but no service history and owner only had it for 3 months but it ran great so going to have a sleep on it as its the first one he's viewed

Thanks for the help. It was me who was looking. Didn't end up buying... seemed okay if looking at it objectively but just didn't get the right vibe (if that makes sense)

Have ended up buying a low mileage (56k) Cup. Belts and pulleys changed at 35k so by my figuring it should still have a fair bit left in it for me to abuse it on track (famous last words)

Picking it up either tomorrow or Wed and will be starting the modding on Thu hahaha. First job is some decent adjustable coilovers and some standard seats. I've started a thread (link below) asking for a bit of direction... feel free to add/ help ;)

How long ago was the belt changed? If it was changed over 4 years ago then I'd get it renewed before giving the car a thrashing.
