172 cup problems



can i have a list of things to check for when buying a 172 cup or any problems i should look out for.

Not too many things besides the normal stuff. If they've kept all the receipts have a look to see when the tyres were changed etc, could give you an idea as to how much its been driven really hard. 12-15k is average for the fronts but I know people have shredded tyres in a lot less than that! Rears should last quite some time.

Try and drive over a small bump or low kerb on full lock at low speed, and listen carefully when lifting off at about 20-30mph, will possibly hear all sorts of noises, that will be the common strut and engine mount issues respectively. Can get it sorted (kind of) under warranty.

Don't be too alarmed if its a bit juddery when you first drive it from proper cold (several hours of it not being used), this happened on all I've been in, takes a minute or two settle down. The rev limit will be much lower during this period as well.
