There's usually two separate sensors, not 100% sure on the Clio tho.

Surely it wouldn't have been too hard getting the end caps off and sticking the horseshoe in to see if timing was out. Cost of the end caps is under 20quid. Could have combined this with the service they were getting done at the same time.
