can any one tell me if a 02 plate 172 has a E.C.U that will compensate for modifications or should it be re-set after any mods i.e filter,exhaust

it'll self compensate a tiny bit, but you get much better results if you have it mapped

all ecu's that are in 172/182 are set for stardard parts, if you want to get a new zorst or induction kit then you will need a group n upgrade and it rolling road tuned - that is if you want the absolute best out of the parts youve got

i am also looking into getting an ecu upgrade, i think the group n upgrade is the best, check out www.k-tecracing.com and bbtuning for prices

k-tec doesnt have a rolling road but bb deos

does the mapping help a lot with these cars ?? i thought it was pointless as it was a highly tuned engine allready

as Fred says, dont hurt to get the Eecu adaptives reset, but for best results mapping is stronly recommended.
